Top Ten Tantalizing Songs of the Season

Picking my top ten songs for the holiday season was NOT an easy task. I have listened to my fair share of Christmas songs, and have quite the collection. The list I have are my top ten currently (in no particular order), and are subject to change at a moment's notice.

Did I miss your favorite? Let me know in the comments!

Top Ten Tantalizing Songs of the Season

1. Underneath the Tree by Kelly Clarkson

This song is so FUN!  It is refreshing to have a new, upbeat Christmas song.  This entire album, Wrapped in Red, is fabulous.

2. Santa Claus is Coming to Town by Colbie Caillat

Colbie puts her beachy sound on this Christmas classic.  Every time this song has come on my Spotify while I'm writing my last paper for my portfolio - I can't help but get up and dance.  Check out Christmas in the Sand.

3. Heaven Everywhere by Francesca Battistelli

This song is so uplifting and really embodies all that is the true Christmas spirit.  One of my favorite sections is when she samples Angels We Have Heard on High. There really is a little bit of heaven everywhere. Find Francesca's album on Amazon, Christmas.

4. You're Here by Francesca Battistelli

My number 4 pick is also from Francesca Battistelli.  This song also has the focus on the true meaning of Christmas.  It is a gorgeous song that goes great with a cup of tea and a blanket.

5. Last Christmas by Ariana Grande

I usually am not fond of ANY rendition of Last Christmas, it just isn't one of my favorite Christmas songs.  However, Ariana Grande's version is just different enough that I forget what the original song is!  Don't get me wrong, it still has the traditional Last Christmas sound - just with Ariana's spin on it.  If you are looking for a fun, pop Christmas tune - this one is for you!  Find Last Christmas on Amazon.

6. My Only Wish this Year by Britney Spears

This song brings back memories of old Christmas dance recitals.  The holiday season just wouldn't be complete without this bouncy song sung by the one and only Britney.  I can't help but start sashaying around when I hear this song (even in public).  You can find this song on My Pop Christmas.

7. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays by NSYNC

Another Christmas classic from my childhood!  Just from looking at the album art, you knew this was going to be an amazing CD.  Anyone else notice Chris Kirkpatrick's braids, or JT's platinum locks?  The 90's were a fun time.  Style aside, this is another one of those fun, upbeat Christmas songs that just makes everyone smile!

8. Sleigh Ride by TLC

Who can resist some TLC?!  This track was also ever present at the many Christmas dance recitals I performed at back in the day.  It strays from the normal style of many Christmas songs and puts a TLC spin on it - complete with a "jingle bells, batman smells."  This song can be found on the This Christmas Soundtrack.

9. Deck the Halls by Mannheim Steamroller

No holiday music collection is complete without some Mannheim Steamroller.  It was hard to choose which song to put on this list, so I went with good old Deck the Halls.  I think that this song is super energizing and really festive.  Find it on their Christmas album.

10. Mr. Heatmiser by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

To finish up the list - a song adapted from one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE CHRISTMAS FILMS - The Year Without a Santa Claus. This song reminds me of sitting on the couch watching ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas.  This song just makes you want to grab a cane and top hat and do a little dance.  Find it on Everything you Want for Christmas.

I hope you enjoyed my Top Ten Tantalizing Songs of the Season!  If you want me to do a top ten Christmas classics list let me know in the comments!

Also, what are the holiday songs you are loving right now - I'd love to know!

With Love,

Traci J
